SWAT Mobility Enhances Dispatch Management with New Features to Support Fast-Paced Retail Logistics

SINGAPORE, 23 May 2025 – SWAT Mobility, a leading provider of AI-powered transport optimisation solutions, has rolled out a new set of enhancements to its Dispatch Management System. These features are designed to give transport planners and field operations teams greater flexibility, improve real-time visibility, and support regulatory compliance—critical factors for logistics providers serving the rapidly evolving retail sector.

1. Live Same-Day Order Management

Planners can now manually reassign orders and update live routes in real time, enabling smoother handling of same-day operational changes without disrupting ongoing deliveries.

This upgrade addresses common challenges in retail logistics, such as urgent order insertions, last-minute shipper or receiver instructions, and service recovery due to delays. The system prevents reassignment of in-progress or completed stops to avoid delivery duplication, while providing clearer visibility into vehicle capacity, route progress, and time constraints.

For retailers managing tight delivery windows and unpredictable demand spikes—especially during promotional campaigns or festive seasons—this feature enables more agile, responsive logistics.

2. Shipper-Focused Live Tracking

A new interface gives shippers full visibility into their assigned vehicle’s movement from the moment it goes online—rather than only after pickups occur.

This closes a common visibility gap in traditional systems where shippers remain uninformed during the early stages of delivery routes. With real-time tracking from the get-go, retail warehouse staff and fulfilment teams can better coordinate loading activities, anticipate delays, and communicate proactively with recipients.

A key benefit for omnichannel retailers and e-commerce platforms, this feature reduces status check calls, improves transparency, and builds trust with B2B and B2C customers alike.

3. Fixed Break Time for Drivers (to Comply with Regulation)

To support compliance with local labour regulations and ensure driver welfare, break times can now be embedded directly into route plans.

Operators can define break durations and intervals by vehicle type and jurisdiction. For example, Thai regulations mandate a 30-minute break every four hours under the Land Transport Act. With this feature, retail logistics providers operating across multiple regions can automatically comply with such rules—without needing to manually reconfigure routes—while still maintaining service efficiency.

4. Flexible Stop Management for Drivers

Drivers can now skip to the next stop with a single tap when they face roadblocks, delays, or restricted access at a current location.

The skipped stop is automatically moved to the end of the route, allowing the rest of the deliveries to proceed as planned. This hands drivers more autonomy, reduces the need for back-and-forth with planners, and improves overall delivery continuity.

In high-density urban delivery networks common in retail and e-commerce logistics, this feature supports better time management and service reliability—even under unpredictable road conditions. It also allows drivers to revisit failed pickup or delivery locations when nearby, improving overall fulfilment success.

5. Photo Proof for Failed Pickups

Drivers can now upload photo proof and select standardised reason codes when pickup attempts fail.

Whether a site is inaccessible, goods are unavailable, or no one is present to hand over the items, the documentation is instantly available to planners and customer service teams. This helps retailers manage exceptions quickly and provides an auditable trail for internal tracking and customer communication.

For businesses with strict service-level agreements (SLAs)—such as those handling pharmaceuticals or operating cold-chain logistics—this feature ensures accountability and supports compliance with quality assurance standards.

These new capabilities reflect SWAT Mobility’s commitment to addressing the unique pressures of retail logistics—from last-mile complexities to real-time coordination demands. By enhancing operational control, delivery visibility, and regulatory compliance, SWAT Mobility helps logistics teams deliver on the promise of speed, reliability, and transparency.
